Talking Book Library Austria Now Accessible Via Smartphone and Alexa

visorapps has developed an app called “Hörbücherei Österreich” (talking book library Austria) for iOS and Android and an Alexa Skill for the talking book library of the BSVÖ. The BSVÖ is the Austrian association of blind and partially sighted people. The app and the Alexa Skill are available at no charge on the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon. Now, the large catalogue of the Vienna talking book library is accessible via smartphone and Alexa.

Our apps for iPad and Android include the following features:

  • Search the catalogue of the Talking book library Austria for talking books or audio described films using different search criteria
  • Browse new books
  • Borrow, download, and play talking books or audio described films
  • Synchronise your reading position between apps and the Alexa Skill
  • Borrow talking books and audio described films on CD
  • Manage your borrowed talking books and audio described films

Use Siri on iPhone to start playback and set sleep timers.

The Alexa Skill includes the following features:

  • Search the catalogue of the Talking book library Austria for talking books or audio described films
  • Select talking books or audio described films from a list of suggested items and borrow them

To access talking books through the Alexa Skill, you require an Alexa device and the username and password of your online account with the Talking book library Austria.
